Nicole Malec Kenyon began her design career as a newspaper layout editor in the late 1980s wrestling with border tape, hot wax and Exacto knives. A true jane-of-all-trades, she also spent six years as a staff writer at The Hartford Courant honing her writing and editing skills, and learning to respect the true meaning of deadlines.
As her family grew, she left behind the world of journalism to focus on techology, design and marketing communication. She sauntered into web and multimedia design in 1997, and her love of precision and order also pulled her into relational database design. She has developed dozens of web applications that bring together words, art and techology to display moods and nuances appreciated by discerning clients.
In 2004 and 2005, Nicole received three CASE Awards for publication package development, newsletter content and design, and print advertising for work done for the Graduate School of Social Work at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massashusetts. She graduated from the University Connecticut Magna Cum Laude with a degree in American Studies & Journalism. In 1999, she earned an M.Ed. at Boston College studing educational technology and curriculum and instruction. She is currently partnering with her husband, Nate Kenyon, a horror writer, to promote his upcoming book, Bloodstone. She lives in the Boston area where she enjoys restoring old houses and anything related to paper and fiber art.
